Women’s stress reduction workshop

in san francisco

How would your life improve
if you responded more easefully to stressful situations?

Join us to practice stress-reduction techniques based in self-compassion, somatic awareness, mindfulness and CBT.

Together, we will create a safe, supportive container to learn, practice and share with one another. Studies consistently show that social support is vital to developing and maintaining positive behavior changes. Let’s do this together!

This is a participatory workshop in which you will not only learn stress-reduction techniques, but practice them many times so they become second-nature. It’s one thing to hear about stress-reduction strategies from a podcast or a book, but it’s quite another thing to actually put them into practice. Each week we will build upon the tools learned in the previous weeks.

Everyone is encouraged to experiment with the techniques, determine which ones work best for them, then customize the tools to make them their own.

By the end of the four sessions you will have a personalized toolkit to help free yourself from the heaviness of prolonged states of stress and enable you to move on to what’s most important in your life.

Workshop details:

  • Learn and curate a customized collection of tools to recover from stressful situations quickly and effectively.

  • Attune to your body’s sensations and postures in order to identify and strengthen states of calm and autonomy.

  • Develop and strengthen self-compassion as a trusted ally that enables you to reduce emotional distress and move through life with more peace and optimism.

  • Experiment with different grounding techniques designed to get you out of “fight or flight” mode quickly and effectively so you can think clearly and determine your next right actions.

  • Practice science-based breathing techniques for calming the nervous system.

  • Be supported in a community of like-minded women actively working to reduce stress in their lives.
